Therefore, the honorable Sean Fraser the minister of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship announced today that 13 more countries will now qualify for visa-free travel to Canada. It was announced today that any citizen of these 13 countries who held a Canadian visa in last 10 years or who currently hold a valid United States Non-Immigrant visa can apply for eTA instead of a visa to travel to Canada by air. 13 countries that will benefit from this announcement are as below:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Argentina
  • Costa Rica
  • Morocco
  • Panama
  • Philippines
  • St. Kitts and Nevis
  • St. Lucia
  • St. Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Seychelles
  • Thailand
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Uruguay

This measure will help a lot of travelers in traveling to Canada easily and will make it more affordable as well. Citizens from these countries who already have visa can continue to travel to Canada, however those who don’t qualify for an eTA, will still need a visitor visa to travel to Canada.
