Super visa is best suited for parents and grandparents that allow them to come and stay with their children and grandchildren.
Super visa is a multiple entry visa up to 10 years. Initially, this visa would let parents to
stay with children and grandchildren for 2 years however, as of July 4th , 2022, there has been an update to length of stay. Now, parents can stay up to 5 years when they come to Canada on super visa.
There are certain eligibility criteria that you need to satisfy to be eligible for super visa.
1) The first and foremost requirement is that you are a parent or grandparents of a Canadian Permanent Resident.
2) If you have a child or grandchild who is a permanent resident in Canada, they can invite you for super visa.
3) You then will need a signed letter of invitation from your Canadian PR child/grandchild that they can finically support you when you are here in Canada.
4) Another important requirement is that you will be required to have medical insurance for at least $100, 000 from a Canadian insurance company. This insurance should be fully paid and valid for at least one year.
There are few other things that you need to be aware of when planning to apply for super visa.
The person applying for super visa should be outside Canada, for example if you are in Canada visiting your children on visitor visa, you cannot apply for super visa from inside the country.
Your Children/grandchildren will also be required to submit proof of income such as their pay stubs etc.
