Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada issued invitations to 699 PNP candidates with a minimum CRS score of 791. This is the fifth draw of express entry of this year and second draw that only focused on PNP candidates. There was another draw on February 1 st , 2023, that targeted PNP candidates only with minimum CRS score of 733.

Usually, IRCC holds express entry draws bi-weekly so there are 2 draws each month. However, since the year 2023 started, there have been draws randomly. The first two draws of the year were all program based and invitations were issued to candidates from Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades Class and PNP candidates. These two draws issued invitations to 5500 candidates each, totally to 11,000 invitations issued by Jan 18, 2023. Then, there were two back-to-back draws on Feb 1 st and Feb 2 nd , however these two draws were program specific draws and targeted on PNP candidates and Federal Skilled Worker Class respectively. The draw that was held on Feb 2 nd was first ever draw in the history of Express Entry which targeted Federal Skilled Worker class. So far, there has not been a specific pattern that IRCC is following to held express entry for the year 2023.

No doubt, as per Canada’s immigration plan for year 2023-2025, it was expected that there might be frequent draws. On the top of it, it is expected that IRCC will start holding draws on based of occupation towards the last quarter of the year.
